Summer meal-planning is a little unique – you mi Summer meal-planning is a little unique – you might want to focus on cooking outdoors (keeping that heat out of your house!), or making cool summer salads, or using up all that gorgeous summer produce!

There are SO MANY great options for summer meals, it can almost be a little overwhelming. That’s why I really love this new way I’ve been organizing my summer meals list.

By TYPE OF COOKING!!

I created an idea list for summer meals, divided into categories based on WHERE/HOW I’m cooking.

Do I want to use the BBQ? The Blackstone? Make something easy + cold that doesn’t require heat?

All I have to do is look at the list I want, and poof! I’ve got a bunch of ideas without having to really THINK about meal planning. (Am I the only one whose brain works slower in the heat?!)

Come on over to the blog to check out my own meal lists, + get started on your own! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
The transition into summer is one of my favorite t The transition into summer is one of my favorite times of year. My husband comes home for a few months (a teaching perk!), our homeschool rhythm takes on a different feel, and we just have a lot more family time. It’s the best!!

So, around this time each year, I sit down and reconfigure our schedule for the next couple of months. With all the changes above, a new routine is in order!

Come on over to the blog where I'm sharing a peek into our new summer routine!

I’ll be honest – the connection between planni I’ll be honest – the connection between planning and faith has historically been a difficult one for me. Over the last few years, as Anchored Women was really taking shape and I was deciding what to focus on, I felt like I was being pulled in two directions.

Faith is the most important thing in my life. And it’s really what I want to share with my family, my community – even this online community!

Also? I love planning, and I’ve found it to be such a huge help in my life. And I want to share that with others, connecting them to things that might make life a little easier.

For a while I felt like I needed to choose. Do I write about planning, or do I write about faith? I really struggled over this, because I never ever want to, even subtly, communicate that I think planning can save you, by any means. Only faith in Christ can do that!

But as I wrestled through this, I realized that something was true – something I thought was missing from all the planner blogs out there.

The way planning can actually help you keep your faith as your primary focus. The way planning can be a tool that helps you find the peace that you’re looking for – through Christ, in your home and your life.

So, I try to hold both of these things loosely, weaving them together in a way that hopefully gives you really tangible strategies to live out a faith that can feel a little abstract at times.

And that’s exactly what we’re talking about today on the blog!

Health + wellness have been a struggle for me ever Health + wellness have been a struggle for me ever since my babies were born. After my son’s birth, I experienced a setback that has affected my weight, my energy levels, and more – ever since.

On top of that, I’m a busy mom – homeschooling, running a business, and doing the regular cooking and cleaning. It’s a lot, and sometimes it just doesn’t feel like I have any TIME to focus on my own health.

Also, it doesn’t help that I like brownies. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I haven’t been so great at taking care of my own health over the years. But one thing I AM good at is creating systems. So, knowing that my health really needs to be a priority (but not really knowing how to make it one), I created a system to plan + track my own wellness journey – and I tucked it all into our Wellness Journal!

Summer is coming, friends. And I don’t w Summer is coming, friends.

And I don’t want my kids to waste their summers with their eyes glued to a screen.

And if I’m honest, I don’t want MY eyes glued to a screen all summer, either. 😬

I want an Intentional Summer for our whole family.

I want to figure out what matters to us this summer, and make space for it.

I want to spend time connecting with my people instead of connecting to the internet.

I want to slow down and do things that fill my soul, and I want my family members to be able to do the same.

We only have a few weeks together, where I get to have both of my kids AND my husband home with me all day every day (without schoolwork to do!), and I want to make the most of every single day.

Don’t you want that, too?

I think we can do it. 👊🏻

I think we can have an Intentional Summer, full of adventures and creative play and late night card games and laughter-filled family time and meaningful memories.

But I know it will take a bit of planning. A bit of forethought. And maybe a massive resource complete with things to do and books to read and places to go.

And that’s where I’ve got us all covered.

How do you bind a printable planner? Let me count How do you bind a printable planner? Let me count the ways!

1️⃣ Use a disc-bound system

This is a favorite among our customers! Disc-binding is a perfect blend of the things you want in a planner – allowing you the flexibilityof switching pages in and out whenever you’d like, all while keeping the feel of a spiral bound planner.

Punch, slide into place, and you’re good to go!

2️⃣ Use a 3-Ring Binder

This is the simplest, and most cost efficient way to bind your planner – because you probably already have all of the supplies!

Hole punch each page, slip it into your binder, and throw in some cute dividers! (Get a mini-binder and print half-size for a smaller version of the planner!)

3️⃣ Option 3: Get it spiral bound!

Take your printed planner to a local office supply store, and they will bind it with a spiral coil for around $4! Be sure to ask them to laminate your cover in 10mil lamination sheets – these are really sturdy and will hold up well!

(Or, if you’re a total planning nerd like me, get a binding machine for yourself at home! You won’t regret it! 🤣)

What’s YOUR favorite way to bind your printable planner?

P.S. Our 23/24 S.O.S. Planners are only on sale through TOMORROW NIGHT!! Hurry to grab yours + bind it however you want!
