I’m a wife, a homeschooling mom of 2, a business owner, and no stranger to that feeling of overwhelm that comes with the inability to EVER finish our to-do-lists.

Most people will tell you that you just need to up your hustle game if you want to get everything done.

Not me.

Instead of encouraging you to hustle yourself into burnout, just to say you checked all those things off your list, I want to show you how to slow down, start with your priorities, and build a daily rhythm that accomplishes what’s needed AND gives you time to rest.

I don’t know about you, but I honestly cannot believe we’re over halfway through October right now.⁠
⁠
(The fact that our weather’s been in the 90’s-100’s until this week might have something to do with it…)⁠
⁠
In any case, the holiday season is literally UPON US, and I already feel a bit behind. On top of Thanksgiving and Christmas, these months also hold both of my kids birthdays, at least one trip back to California, and – new this year for us – quite a LOT of school events!⁠

So, overwhelmed and more than a little bit Type-A, I did what I always do.⁠
⁠
I made a checklist! ⁠
⁠
(And I’m sharing it with you!)⁠
⁠
I started with a detailed list for what needs to be done in October, November, and December, and then I made a few more blank checklists for all the things I can’t think of yet, but I know will come up! ⁠

Goals don’t actually happen unless we give them

Goals don’t actually happen unless we give them a spot in our actual days! So I try to do these 3 things each week to help those goals stay top of mind, and front and center in my schedule ⬇️

1 // Track Daily Habits
Many of my goals are broken down into tiny habits that add up to big progress. Keeping these top of mind by tracking them all week long is key! Pro tip: I organize my habits in order of the day, so I check them off from top to bottom as I complete them!

2 // Meal Plan
This might not seem super goal-relevant, but I promise you it is. Making a plan for dinner each night saves me time, energy, and money all week long. This way, I make mealtime easy and keep my focus where it’s most needed - on the harder things like goals and new habits!

3 // Name My Top 3
My task list for the week can get long. When I name my top 3 most important things at the beginning of the week, and WRITE THEM DOWN, I am much more likely to keep making progress on those things, even when other stuff interrupts. Bonus points if those top 3 align with my goals - then I am making progress on what matters MOST to me!
