I’m a planner nerd. I own it. And for planner nerds like me, getting a new planner every year feels a little bit like Christmas – even down to the boxes and fancy paper. However, once I get down to the actual planning part of my planner, I often feel the buyer’s remorse kick in.⁠

Let’s talk TIME BLOCKING!⁠

✏️ Who is it for? Anyone who would rather look at their day in chunks, instead of as one looooong day. ⁠

📋 How does it work? ⁠
⁠
1. Divide your day into blocks of time that make sense. Morning, afternoon, and evening often work great! ⁠⁠
⁠
2. Look at each block individually. Take that one block and write out what needs to be done during that time ONLY! ⁠⁠
⁠
3. Give yourself the gift of focusing on just that block of time, while you’re in it. Tackle just THAT block’s tasks, instead of getting overwhelmed by ALL the tasks. ⁠

⁠👉🏻 Pro tip: Try assigning themes to your blocks of time! Maybe the morning is for work, the afternoon is for home chores, and the evening is for rest! Then, all your tasks go together and you get to be even more efficient!⁠⁠

How does it work?⁠

Start by writing our your schedule for the week, either straight down the page (1-page bujo), or across the top of two pages (2-page bujo). (See video above!)⁠

Create a master task list for the week. Each day, this is what you’ll pull from!⁠
⁠
Use that flexible space however you want - daily lists, reminders, packing lists - it’s truly up to you!⁠

👉🏻 Pro tip: Bullet journaling allows you to use ANY of the planning methods we talked about this week! Throw some categories into that flexible space, or write out an hourly or time blocked schedule for your day - this is the beauty of a flexible planning system! If you need to switch up planning styles often, bullet journaling may be the way to go.
