Your Weekly Reset | Vol. 2
Hey friends!
Well, I *think* I’ve settled on my word of the year:
S T E A D Y .
Faithful, grounded forward movement – without extremes or urgency.
I spent the last few months of 2025 really stressed. Between online business changing, middle and high school schedules overlapping like crazy, and my own weird health changes, I honestly felt like I couldn’t think further down the road than the next day.
On top of that, I had quite a few friends offhandedly mention how busy I was – and I was very convicted because BUSY is not how I want to be seen. I want to be the friend people know is available for them when needed, who can take a meal to someone in need, or go out to coffee to chat, or invite someone over for tea. That’s who I am, but my schedule has not reflected that.
And my people had noticed.
So in the year ahead, my hope is to be STEADY, not busy. Available for those who need me, because I’ve protected margin in our schedule. Practicing Sabbath rest in a real way. Moving forward faithfully without urgency, trusting that the Lord will faithfully provide all I need for each day. Because He always does, whether I’m stressed about it or not.
How I’m planning to implement STEADY in my life this year:
Before saying yes, ask:
- Can this be done steadily, without urgency?
- Does this require scrambling or all-or-nothing energy?
In practice at home:
- Repeatable rhythms instead of constant reinvention
- Sabbath rest becomes a non-negotiable part of our week
- Name what is enough, instead of chasing more
- Our calendar reflects our convictions
In practice at work:
- Each season has a small number of true priorities
- We build and improve systems so work feels calmer over time
- We document processes instead of relying on memory or heroics
- We ask, “How can this be easier next time?”
- Clear start/stop times for work blocks
Scripture for your week:
My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.
– Proverbs 4:20-26
These are the verses I’m going to be meditating on as I pursue a life that is STEADY this year. I want to start with a foundation in God’s Word every day, keeping His Word within my heart. I want to guard my heart by thoroughly examining what I read, watch, and listen to (hello social media, I’m talking to you!), and faithfully walk forward on the simple path He has me on this year.
Steady. Intentional. Rested.

Right now, I’m starting each week with our Weekly Planning Essentials Checklist to help me slow down and plan with clarity instead of urgency. It gives me a simple rhythm for looking back before jumping ahead, which makes my weeks feel much more intentional.
Here’s how I’m using it:
- Reflecting on what worked (and what didn’t) last week
- Identifying what is actually most important in the days ahead
- Walking through a planning checklist so nothing important slips through the cracks
Need a little help in this area, too? If you ever sit down to plan and just feel scattered, this checklist will be a huge help to you because it gives you a clear place to start. Grab it below! 👇

🍽️ What I’m Using in the Kitchen → Magnetic Whiteboard Sheet Seeing the plan laid out where everyone can see it has cut down on daily decision-making.
✍🏼 Tools Helping Me Plan → S.O.S. Planner I’m using the hourly weekly layout right now for weekly overviews, and following it up with the Daily Detail Layout for each day!
🧺 Home Things Making Life Easier → My New Baking Cart I put all my baking supplies on a cart that I can roll in and out of the pantry – and it’s been a total game changer! I’m making a lot more homemade bread + cooking from scratch more often. I’m loving it!
🎧 What I’m Listening To → Be Good to Your Body, by Jordan Lee Dooley I’ve been listening to this book over the last couple of weeks, just in spurts while I walk around my neighborhood, and it might be one of the best *health* books I’ve ever read. She takes such a Biblical approach, full of grace and honesty. I’m really enjoying this one!
Hope your week is full of what matters most! 💛
