Your Weekly Reset | Vol. 3
Hey friends!
Do you know what’s been super frustrating for me lately?
My morning routine.
When we were homeschooling, mornings were LOVELY. Slow, with plenty of time to get all the important things done – Bible reading, exercise, a good breakfast, and a shower!
But with my kids in school for the last couple years, our mornings have gotten significantly less lovely. Leaving the house by 7am each day leaves a lot less time for all those important things. At least before 7!
I tried walking at 5am for a while, but that often meant that I never got to my Bible study. And then I tried getting up at 4:30am to fit everything in, but that just wan’t sustainable. 🥱
Right now, I’m reworking my morning routine yet again using our Morning + Evening Routines Guide (I share more about this below!), and I’m starting with Bible study, since I really believe that’s the most important part of my day. Then, I make the kids breakfast and pack lunches, and I go on a walk after they leave for school with Jon. On the days I take them, I meet a friend at a park for a walk.
So far, it’s going well! And I think that – for me at least – it might be because I’m starting my day in the Word. I’m going to stick with this for a while, and see how it goes!
If you, too, are needing a revamp of your morning routine, may I make a few suggestions?
- Start with whatever matters MOST. If you don’t begin your day here, you might not get to it at all. That’s when you end up feeling like your days don’t align with your values – and that’s not what we want.
- Don’t touch your phone until AFTER your morning routine. If you’re anything like me, it’s just too easy to get sucked into the scroll, and then your time is suddenly gone!
- Pair something challenging with something fun. I rarely want to go on a walk, but I’m listening to a really good audiobook right now, only when I walk – which motivates me to do it!
Don’t be afraid to mix things up when you need a new routine! No routine lasts forever – it’s okay to change things as your season changes.
Scripture for your week:
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”– Lamentations 3:22-24
I love the reminder in these verses that the Lord’s mercies are new every single morning! His faithfulness meets me right where I am each day, in His Word. And like we talked about a couple weeks ago, the Lord is our portion – meaning He gives us exactly what we need each day. We can confidently hope in him!

This month, I’ve been using our Morning + Evening Routine Guide (available inside our Organized Life Library) to rethink how my days actually start and end. Instead of reusing an old routine that doesn’t work anymore, I’m building simple new rhythms that work for our household and this new season.
Here’s what’s been helpful:
- Clarifying what truly needs to happen in the morning and evening
- Choosing a realistic order for those tasks
- Posting the routines where I can actually see them and follow through
If routines have felt frustrating or unrealistic before, this guide is a really practical reset that comes with tons of examples. I really love it! You can grab it for just $7 inside the Organized Life Library – on sale this week!ill be a huge help to you because it gives you a clear place to start. Grab it below! 👇

📚 What I’m Reading → The Book of Matthew! We’re studying this together in the Anchored Life Club as we read through the New Testament this year! I’m reading with my new Bible Study Journal right next to me, taking notes as I go!
🍽️ What I’m Using in the Kitchen → My Electric Kettle This was a splurge that I have never once regretted. 😅 This electric kettle keeps my water hot, so I can literally drink hot tea all day long. If you know me BUT AT ALL, you know this is one of my most prized and often-used possessions. Highly recommend! But here’s a more affordable one if you’re not up for a splurge, which I totally get.
✍🏼 Tools Helping Me Plan → The Organized Life Library I’m pulling checklists and planners from here as needed instead of reinventing the wheel. This might be my favorite product we offer – and it’s on sale this week! Check it out here >>>
