Your Weekly Reset | Vol. 4
Hey friends!
We’re reaching the end of Prep Month (aka January), so it’s time to finalize those goals! Today I’m sharing with you my personal goals for the year ahead.
Spoiler: I don’t have too many this year. I’m keeping it simple and steady!
Goal #1: Read the Bible DAILY (Habit Goal) This one fits right into the morning routine we talked about last week – I’m reading through the New Testament with our Anchored Life Club this year! Just a focused time of reading + note-taking each morning!
Goal #2: Create a Healthy, Reusable Meal Plan for Each Season (Project Goal) This is a project goal I’ve been putting off for a long time, so I’m doing it this year! In fact, I already have the Winter one done! I’ll continue with each season as we approach it, and be able to reuse these year after year!
Goal #3: Walk DAILY (Habit Goal) I’ve been hitting 6,000 steps for the last few months, so I’m upping that to 7,000 steps a day now! I hope to reach 10,000 steps a day by the end of the year.
Goal #4: Practice Sabbath Rest WEEKLY (Habit Goal) I am not quite sure how we’re going to do this yet, but this is a family goal for the year. I’ll keep you updated as we figure out how to plan our week to protect a day of rest each week!
Goal #5: Prioritize Connection Over Productivity (Habit Goal) Each month, I want to make sure to plan time with friends. I already have brunch planned with a group of friends each month, and a Mom’s Night In planned with another! Each week I also want to make sure to go on a date with my husband. We are fiiiiiiiiinally at the stage of life where we can leave the kids home for a short time, so we’re going to start dating again. SO excited for this!
Goal #6: Create Yearly Family Photo Books (Project Goal) It is embarrassing how long I’ve said I wanted to do this, and simply haven’t. This is the year. I’m making photo albums by year, and getting them printed…starting with 2010. 🤦🏼♀️ It’s happening. Hold me to this!!
That’s it! Only 2 Project Goals and 4 Habit Goals. This feels truly manageable to me, and we all know that the more manageable things feel, the more likely we are to actually accomplish them!
Scripture for your week:
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.
– Proverbs 16:9
This is a good one for me this week, as I remember that even though I’m setting goals for the year ahead, I’m also holding them loosely, knowing that God is the One who will truly direct my steps. Everything I plan comes under His sovereignty – and the older I get, the more and more grateful I am for that! Everything depends on Him, not on me.
Same goes for you. 😉

As I’ve been working on my yearly goals, I’ve been using our Anchored Goal Starter Pack to make sure my goals are realistic and well-fitting for this season. I love that this little pack helps me separate project goals from habit goals so everything feels clearer and more manageable.
Here’s how I’m using it:
- Brain dumping goal ideas without pressure
- Breaking goals into actual action steps
- Tracking habits in a way that supports consistency instead of guilt
Want your goals to move forward without feeling overwhelming? I think you’ll love this freebie too!

🧺 What I’m Using to Stay Organized → Cable/Cord Organizer Attachments It’s such a small thing, but sticking these on the back of our device charging station keeps all the cords untangled and easy to access. I seriously love these!
✍🏼 Tools Helping Me Plan → Time-Blocking Highlighters I use these when mapping out my day (I’m using the Daily Detail Layout) so I can quickly see work time, family time, and margin at a glance!
🛁 One Thing Helping Me Stay Sane Right Now → A Meal Planning Section in My Planner I created a specific Meal Planning section at the front of my S.O.S. Planner with all my Meal Planning pages (already included in the planner, just in different sections!). It’s a section I’m already referencing every week as I meal plan + grocery shop – no more reinventing the week each week!
Hope your week is full of what matters most! 💛
