Anchored Women

Raise your hand if you live right on the edge of total exhaustion, constantly feeling like there’s never enough time to manage all-the-things.

You love your family, your home, and your work.

but you don’t actually get to enjoy them because
there’s just too much to do.

You know you should be grateful for all you’ve been given–and you are!

But also? You’re just really, really tired.

You desperately want to quit feeling like you’re playing catch up all-the-livelong-day.

And you wouldn’t say no to a nap, either.

Hi, friend. Sit down, let me pour you a cup of virtual tea (the drink, not the gossip!), and welcome you to Anchored Women.

You’re in the right place.

True story: I’m a total organizational nerd–and own far more bins + baskets than any one person should.

And I’m pretty sold on the idea that we can organize your life into some proverbial bins + baskets to get you that rest you’ve been searching for.

Hi, I’m Kayse.

I’m a wife, a mama, and a teacher turned writer/designer who creates home + life management resources for overwhelmed women. I’m a firm believer that pretty tools are way more fun to use, so…I make those. 😉

After becoming a mom, I quickly realized that I wasn’t the only woman out there who felt like she was drowning underneath all the things that suddenly fell into her lap.

In fact, there were a lot of us.

So I stepped into a new role as a writer–helping women realize they weren’t as alone as they thought, and a designer–creating priority-based organizational tools and resources to help myself and others make space for what actually matters, and confidently let go of the rest.

Now, I teach thousands of women just like you to plan their days around what matters most–so they can manage their lives + homes with a little more peace, and a lot more freedom.

LET’S GET YOU STARTED! >>
“Anchored Women has helped me grow in my planning anD my faith!“
– RACHAEL P., ANCHORED LIFE CLUB MEMBER

Here’s how we make that happen for you.

Step 01 // We help you identify your priorities within your season.

We all know that life changes from one season to the next–which means that your priorities change too. We start by taking a look at what season you’re in, and narrowing in on what’s truly MOST important, right now.

DOWNLOAD OUR FREE “NAME YOUR SEASON” GUIDE! >>

Step 02 // We help you create a plan based on those priorities.

Here’s where the rubber meets the road–we teach you how to plan in a way that keeps those priorities front and center. Instead of feeling like you’re wasting your time on what doesn’t matter, you’ll start finally feeling like you are moving in the right direction.

Step 03 // We teach you how to work the plan!

Most plans fail because the planning is a lot easier than the doing. But we’ll show you how to break down your plan into manageable action steps, follow through on each step, and assess + tweak the plan when it’s not working.

And then?
You’ll trade in that can’t-quite-catch-up feeling for true confidence as you intentionally pursue the most important things in life–every single day!

“I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE WAY YOU TEACH PLANNING.
YOUR SYSTEM WORKS!”
– CINDY J., ANCHORED LIFE CLUB MEMBER

Confession: I’m a pretty open book, and a chronic oversharer.

So if you’re on the hunt for some spilled tea (the gossip this time, not the drink!), here’s a little more about me...

  1. I like to read. Like, a lot. When we moved to Vegas, the movers legit told me that we had a problem with the overall weight because of…all the books. We moved them anyway and they all live on one of our seventeen bookshelves and I have zero regrets.
  2. I could eat tacos every day for the rest of my life. Give me tacos and books, and I’m a happy girl.
  3. I love my people with my whole heart AND ALSO I am a hard-core introvert. Not unrelated – I take a bath almost every night because an occupied bathroom is the one place those people aren’t allowed.
  4. I grew up living on a cemetery. For real. It’s our family business but I refused to willingly disclose that info because no one thought it was cool until college when my friends found out, thought it was amazing, and nicknamed me Wednesday.
  5. I am a forever-grateful Christian, saved + sustained by grace alone. Christ and His sacrifice on my behalf (and yours) is the song I will sing until my dying day. I share more about His story in my life here + here, and am always, always up for a conversation about God’s faithfulness when life is hard.

So…where to next?

I need to figure out what season I’m in, so I can start creating a plan that works for me!

Alright, here it is. The best chocolate chip cooki Alright, here it is. The best chocolate chip cookie recipe EVER.

Have I spent years working on this? Yes, yes I have. I wanted fluffy, but sturdy. Soft on the inside, perfectly crunchy on the edges.

And this is the one, you guys. 😍 It's ready! Kid (and mom) tested and approved. Here you go!

THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES EVER

Start with:
1 cup Butter - BARELY softened, still firm. (This is important for fluffiness. DO. NOT. MELT.)
Slightly less than 3/4 cup Sugar
Slightly less than 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
^^ Mix all that together till it's JUST creamy.

Add 2 eggs + mix again.

Then add these ingredients IN ORDER, mixing after each one:
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder (do not skip - this also helps with fluffiness!)
2+1/3 cups flour
2 cups dark chocolate chips (@traderjoes are the best)
1 cup chopped walnuts OR salted caramel chips (also from @traderjoes)
^^Mix everything in slooooooooowly, one ingredient at a time, in order.

Chill dough in the fridge for 30 minutes while you prep the oven + baking sheets.

Bake on parchment paper at 375 for 10 minutes, or until the edges are light brown. Bake ONLY ONE TRAY AT A TIME. Each batch requires all of the oven's attention. Just trust me on this.

Remove from oven and let stand on the baking sheet for 2-4 more minutes. Then move the cookies over to a cooling rack. Enjoy while still warm with your favorite glass of milk! (We like goat milk over here!)

Happy summer baking, friends!! Share YOUR favorite summer treat with us in the comments!!
We took a few days last week to get out of town... We took a few days last week to get out of town...well, to head to the other side of town. We've found that getting "away" as soon as school gets out is a really helpful way to kick off our summer.

Initially we had plans for a big trip - New York, Washington D.C., and visiting family on the East Coast. We had spent the last few years really excited about this trip, dreaming up some fun plans.

But life happened, as it does, and that trip will have to wait a bit longer. Instead, we headed to a local lake, ate grocery-store-bought food in our tiny room (a bed, a couch, and an air mattress!), and stayed up late watching cable TV that we don't pay for at home. 🤣

And it was truly wonderful.

It's easy to look around on instagram or at church or in your own neighborhood, and feeling like your summer just might not measure up. Maybe you’re not going on any big trips, or your budget just doesn’t allow you to do all the things your neighbor does.

That’s okay. Your family isn’t going to remember how much money you spent or how many places you took them. They’re going to remember how their summer made them feel loved and stable and how they made memories playing cards and watching movies and finding their new favorite series of books.

And that, my friends, is nothing to feel badly about.

Colossians 1:17, one of my favorite verses, keeps hitting home with me lately.

“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

Even when I'm deeply disappointed – something that’s happened multiple times this year, actually – I can trust that Christ is right there holding everything together, for His glory and my good.

So if you, too, are grappling with some disappointment this summer, I hope this verse helps remind you that no matter the circumstance, Jesus goes before you, and he holds all things together. 💛

P.S. Even if you don’t have BIG plans this summer, you can still make FUN plans! Comment SUMMER below to download our super-helpful, totally free Summer Planning Pack. It’s got a ton of great ideas and suggestions for your summer – including a simple workbook to help you figure out exactly what you want to focus on!
I spent the months of April and May glued to my co I spent the months of April and May glued to my computer screen. This sort of lifestyle does not match up with my values, but the fact of the matter is sometimes running a small business simply requires a lot of working time. And planner season hit us hard.

It was all hands on deck, all hours of the day, and definitely NOT my best life.

Plus, MAY with two children in school is just…a lot. Can I get an Amen? Cause I didn’t know that and now I do and ohmygoodness we will plan better next year.

So, I wore my DO-ALL-THE-THINGS hat for a couple of months straight. I worked and worked and worked, and now the Planner is done and beautiful, and the new Library is all filled and ready to go. And all of that is truly wonderful!

And I am so proud.

Also, I am so tired.

It is typical for me to take a long break from the blog in the summer, but that’s not really an option for me this year, for many reasons. So I’m not taking an extended break.

But I am switching hats.

I’m gearing up to trade in my DO-ALL-THE-THINGS hat for my Reader hat, and my Writer hat, and my Happy Wife hat, and my Not-Grumpy Mom hat.

I’m hoping that these hats feel a lot more like myself, and a lot less exhausted. 🫠

Just a reminder for all of us: Running hard and pushing yourself to do-do-do all the time simply isn’t sustainable.

So today, I want you to think about what hat you’ve been wearing for the last few months. Is it time to switch things up, to give yourself a break?

Is it time to feed your creativity a bit? To paint, to read, to create?

Or is it time to rest & find your footing again?

Summer is here, friends. And we have a chance to use this season to do something a little bit differently. Tell me in the comments - what hat will YOU be wearing this summer??
Okay listen - I figured out a serious cleaning hac Okay listen - I figured out a serious cleaning hack for the summer.

It's called PUT YOUR KIDS IN CHARGE. 🤣

Hear me out. I have been trying to get my family to put the dishes in the dishwasher for years. YEARS, I tell you. And yet, there they remained - in the sink or on the counter. Gross and slimy, waiting for ME to put them in the dishwasher.

This summer, when doling out chores, one of my kids got "loading the dishwasher". This kid, like me, does not enjoy touching gross, slimy dishes. So that kid was none too pleased at the job.

Until...

I told the kid they were actually IN CHARGE of this, which didn't mean they had to DO every part of it, just make sure it got done somehow by the end of the day.

This child is now the official Dish Police. If someone leaves a dish on the table, sink, or counter, they hear about it - but not from me, FROM THE KID.

It's magical, I tell you. Because the dishes are all getting done, and I am nagging NOT A SINGLE PERSON! 🥳

I'm seriously loving this, and very hopeful we can continue it forever. Pleaseandthankyou.
