Anchored Women

Finally, a planner that actually helps you make time for the things that matter MOST.

Today, I’m thrilled to introduce you to the planner I’ve been using for the last year and a half. I don’t see myself ever using anything else. I’m in love!

See, for years, I’ve shared with you The Ultimate Planner Reviews, while answering questions and helping people choose their perfect planner.

And yet, I’d still been on the hunt for mine.

Don’t get me wrong, I had found planners & systems I really loved…for a time. But I never found a planner that worked for me in every season of my life.

I wanted everything in one place – one central reference guide to organize my chaotic life.

I wanted specific aspects of this dream planner, like monthly, weekly, AND daily views. Like meal planning worksheets and shopping lists that were already categorized. Like ways to track progress on my goals every single day. Like a ton of notes pages so I could keep my master lists right there in my planner. Every planner I found had one or two of these qualities, but never ALL of them. They always sacrificed something.

And I was tired of sacrificing functionality for a planner that was just pretty.

What I needed was a planner that could organize both my home life AND work life, and help me stay on top of both my daily responsibilities AND our long-term goals.

And so, The Organized Life Planner was born. And it has changed my life in the very best way. My hope is that it changes yours too, and becomes a tool that you can use to truly organize and simplify your life – getting everything down on paper so that you can actually clear your head, and make time for the things that matter most.

Ready to take a closer look? Check it out!

The Organized Life Planner Includes:

And the best part? It comes in two versions – a pre-printed version that comes shipped straight to your home, OR a print-at-home version that you can customize with our add-on planner packs!

These days, I keep it super simple ⬇️ One pag These days, I keep it super simple ⬇️

One page of prayer requests (color coded of course) for every category of prayer:

🌎 World + Nation
⛪️ Community
💛 Friends
🏠 Family
💙 Extended Family
✏️ Work (Anchored Women for me)
➡️ Personal

Then, each day-ish, I write out my prayers for one of those pages (See how there are 7? That’s on purpose!), and color code if I’m feeling real crafty.

That’s it.

I write out my prayers because it helps me focus, process life, and talk to the Lord in the way he’s designed my brain best. I also usually copy down a few verses from my reading that day, so that I keep myself grounded in Scripture, and not in my feelings.

I have used many, many prayer journals, but I always come back to this simple notebook. It just works best for me. Comment JOURNAL below and I’ll send you a link to my favorite moleskine dupes that are so much cuter AND cheaper. 😍

Do you use a prayer journal? I’d love to hear what works for you!!

*I didn’t develop these prayer categories, just tweaked them from the @valmariepaper prayer journal I’ve used in the past!! It’s fabulous if you want something already put together for you!

**Sticker on the front is from @solagratia.co - best stickers ever!!!

Alright, here it is. The best chocolate chip cooki Alright, here it is. The best chocolate chip cookie recipe EVER.

Have I spent years working on this? Yes, yes I have. I wanted fluffy, but sturdy. Soft on the inside, perfectly crunchy on the edges.

And this is the one, you guys. 😍 It's ready! Kid (and mom) tested and approved. Here you go!

THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES EVER

Start with:
1 cup Butter - BARELY softened, still firm. (This is important for fluffiness. DO. NOT. MELT.)
Slightly less than 3/4 cup Sugar
Slightly less than 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
^^ Mix all that together till it's JUST creamy.

Add 2 eggs + mix again.

Then add these ingredients IN ORDER, mixing after each one:
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder (do not skip - this also helps with fluffiness!)
2+1/3 cups flour
2 cups dark chocolate chips (@traderjoes are the best)
1 cup chopped walnuts OR salted caramel chips (also from @traderjoes)
^^Mix everything in slooooooooowly, one ingredient at a time, in order.

Chill dough in the fridge for 30 minutes while you prep the oven + baking sheets.

Bake on parchment paper at 375 for 10 minutes, or until the edges are light brown. Bake ONLY ONE TRAY AT A TIME. Each batch requires all of the oven's attention. Just trust me on this.

Remove from oven and let stand on the baking sheet for 2-4 more minutes. Then move the cookies over to a cooling rack. Enjoy while still warm with your favorite glass of milk! (We like goat milk over here!)

Happy summer baking, friends!! Share YOUR favorite summer treat with us in the comments!!
We took a few days last week to get out of town... We took a few days last week to get out of town...well, to head to the other side of town. We've found that getting "away" as soon as school gets out is a really helpful way to kick off our summer.

Initially we had plans for a big trip - New York, Washington D.C., and visiting family on the East Coast. We had spent the last few years really excited about this trip, dreaming up some fun plans.

But life happened, as it does, and that trip will have to wait a bit longer. Instead, we headed to a local lake, ate grocery-store-bought food in our tiny room (a bed, a couch, and an air mattress!), and stayed up late watching cable TV that we don't pay for at home. 🤣

And it was truly wonderful.

It's easy to look around on instagram or at church or in your own neighborhood, and feeling like your summer just might not measure up. Maybe you’re not going on any big trips, or your budget just doesn’t allow you to do all the things your neighbor does.

That’s okay. Your family isn’t going to remember how much money you spent or how many places you took them. They’re going to remember how their summer made them feel loved and stable and how they made memories playing cards and watching movies and finding their new favorite series of books.

And that, my friends, is nothing to feel badly about.

Colossians 1:17, one of my favorite verses, keeps hitting home with me lately.

“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

Even when I'm deeply disappointed – something that’s happened multiple times this year, actually – I can trust that Christ is right there holding everything together, for His glory and my good.

So if you, too, are grappling with some disappointment this summer, I hope this verse helps remind you that no matter the circumstance, Jesus goes before you, and he holds all things together. 💛

P.S. Even if you don’t have BIG plans this summer, you can still make FUN plans! Comment SUMMER below to download our super-helpful, totally free Summer Planning Pack. It’s got a ton of great ideas and suggestions for your summer – including a simple workbook to help you figure out exactly what you want to focus on!
I spent the months of April and May glued to my co I spent the months of April and May glued to my computer screen. This sort of lifestyle does not match up with my values, but the fact of the matter is sometimes running a small business simply requires a lot of working time. And planner season hit us hard.

It was all hands on deck, all hours of the day, and definitely NOT my best life.

Plus, MAY with two children in school is just…a lot. Can I get an Amen? Cause I didn’t know that and now I do and ohmygoodness we will plan better next year.

So, I wore my DO-ALL-THE-THINGS hat for a couple of months straight. I worked and worked and worked, and now the Planner is done and beautiful, and the new Library is all filled and ready to go. And all of that is truly wonderful!

And I am so proud.

Also, I am so tired.

It is typical for me to take a long break from the blog in the summer, but that’s not really an option for me this year, for many reasons. So I’m not taking an extended break.

But I am switching hats.

I’m gearing up to trade in my DO-ALL-THE-THINGS hat for my Reader hat, and my Writer hat, and my Happy Wife hat, and my Not-Grumpy Mom hat.

I’m hoping that these hats feel a lot more like myself, and a lot less exhausted. 🫠

Just a reminder for all of us: Running hard and pushing yourself to do-do-do all the time simply isn’t sustainable.

So today, I want you to think about what hat you’ve been wearing for the last few months. Is it time to switch things up, to give yourself a break?

Is it time to feed your creativity a bit? To paint, to read, to create?

Or is it time to rest & find your footing again?

Summer is here, friends. And we have a chance to use this season to do something a little bit differently. Tell me in the comments - what hat will YOU be wearing this summer??
