How to use the time change to overhaul your mornings!

Hey friends!

This is one of my favorite weekends of the year. Not because it’s Nevada Day (though it is!), or Halloween, or Reformation Day, but because WE TURN THE CLOCKS BACK ON SATURDAY NIGHT!

And that makes this weekend the PERFECT time to start a new morning routine!

Maybe you’ve been wanting to get up early to read your Bible, or go on a walk, or just have a little quiet time.

THIS IS THE TIME TO DO IT.

Why? Because your body is already used to getting up at the time it gets up. So when we change the clocks this time around, you can very easily trick your body into getting up an hour earlier – because it will feel like the same time you’ve BEEN getting up!

You might be in a season where you’re like, Kayse – lay off, I need the extra hour of sleep! And I totally get that – you should absolutely sleep.

BUT. In the off-chance that you’ve been wanting to start an early morning habit and haven’t quite been able to – THIS IS YOUR WEEKEND!!! Set your alarm for an hour earlier and do the thing you’ve been putting off. It won’t even take much effort!

My personal favorite morning routine in this season:

  • Up at 5 (but it feels like 6!!)
  • Head downstairs + make tea
  • Put on a “fall ambiance” or “winter ambiance” hymns playlist on YouTube
  • Read my Bible in the quiet of the morning (this is the Bible I’m using right now)
  • Go for a short walk before starting the get-ready process with the kids

It’s simple, but this is absolutely my FAVORITE time of year for a peaceful morning routine. I hope you’ll take advantage of the time change too!!

Happy Nevada Day! (Yes, this is a real thing. We don’t even have school today!)
