Tasty Thursday: Chocolate Caramel Cake
Photo Credit |
This cake is to die for.
Literally.
It’s my brother’s favorite.
Which is saying something, since he really only eats cheeseburgers and quesadillas {love you, Seth!}.
Plus, it’s super easy to make.
Ingredients
Box of Chocolate Cake Mix {& necessary items to make the cake}
Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
Jar of Caramel Sauce
Cool Whip
Candy Bar {I recommend Butterfinger}
Instructions
1. Bake the cake according to the directions on the box. You can bake it from scratch if you want, but by now I think we all know I’m not that fancy. 🙂
2. Using the back end of a wooden spoon, poke holes in the cake about 5 minutes after you take it out of the oven. You want as many holes as possible without the cake totally falling apart.
3. Pour the can of sweetened condensed milk over the whole cake. Drizzle to fill the holes, and use a spatula to spread it evenly over the cake.
4. Do the same with the jar of caramel.
5. Chill in refrigerator for a couple hours.
6. Spread Cool Whip evenly over the top, like frosting. 🙂
7. Crush up a candy bar {I use a Butterfinger, but I’ve also used a Heath Bar in the past} and sprinkle it over the top of the cake.
8. Serve and bask in the praises of your family and friends!
This cake is full of chocolatey and caramely goodness. Every bite is super rich and wonderful! It’s definitely a fan favorite.
{Note…The “real” name of this cake is not quite family friendly, so I didn’t post it here. But it does a pretty good job at describing just how good it is!} 🙂
